For July 2026, KATO USA will be producing some BRAND NEW Canadian National locomotives in N-Scale to celebrate America’s 250th!
The Evolution Series by GE was built to meet new emissions standards in 2005, and since then they’ve become a common sight on American and Canadian railroads.

- CN 1776 features an intricate design of the Screaming Eagle, and it’s complemented with a beautiful camouflage pattern throughout.
- CN 2026 pays homage to the modern design of the Air Force One with its red and blue striping throughout
Prototype Information:
The ES (Evolution Series) of locomotives were designed to meet the U.S. EPA’s Tier 2 locomotive emissions guidelines that took effect in 2005. Since then, railroads such as Canadian National have adopted the ES44 throughout their network. CN has deep roots in the United States and plays a vital role in the nation’s railroad operations. As part of America’s 250th Anniversary, Canadian National has introduced a striking “screaming eagle” design on locomotive numbered 1776 which pays homage to military service and the United States striped flag.
